#03 Mountain Stream

Eight grueling hours carrying an eighty-five pound backpack loaded with enough gear to sustain me for approximately six days, I reached the beautiful Cirque of the Towers located in Wyoming's Wind River Range. As pristine as you will find for its beauty, this two mile by two mile area is surrounded by jagged peaks except for an opening to the east.

Mountain streams are abundant in the Cirque and fed by melting snow year around. All streams within the Cirque flow to Lonesome Lake and the overflow from this beautiful crystal clear lake then flows out the opening to the east.

Ideal times to visit the Cirque of the Towers are generally the third or fourth week of July as wild flowers reach their optimum level of beauty during these last two weeks of the month... enjoy!
