#16 Stacked Rocks & Water
After spending the majority of winter somewhat cooped up in the house, there is no better way to kick off spring than a trip to the Smoky Mountains. Wild flowers along with Redbud and Dogwood trees are in bloom, but what I like most is the tender light green leaves set against the dark leaves of the Rhododendron that line almost every stream flowing through the Smoky Mountains.
Stream photography certainly ranks at the top of my list for enjoyment, and in the Smokies I'm not backpacking eighty-five pounds of equipment seven to ten miles into the back country to get shots like this image.
If you're new to photography, you will need exposures of one or two seconds for the water to take on a foggy cotton candy look. I also recommend overcast days to cut down on contrast, or shoot very early morning or late evening to avoid direct rays from the sun in the composition... enjoy!
