#21 Reflected Maple & Sky
In the fall I usually have my sights on Colorado, but in 2002 I decided to head for Michigan after talking with a couple that I had met at Fisher Towers in Utah. They informed me that fall color in Michigan varies from year to year, but when you hit it right, the color will rival anything you see in the New England states.
In October I headed for the Upper Peninsula and the Porcupine Mountains, and while the colors did not explode during 2002, they were respectable as I came away with a couple of images that grace my portfolio.
This image was produced shortly after I considered the good photographic light of morning had come to an end. I was headed back to my car traversing along a stream when I jumped over a couple of small waterfalls and noticed the reflection of a Maple and blue sky in the stream. I put on the brakes, backed up three steps, and remember saying to myself; what a great reflection.
While landscape images are my primary goal for fine art photography, I will never turn down a photo that I consider unique... enjoy!
