#25 Reflected Light

This image was produced in lower Antelope Canyon, and while I have shot in both upper and lower canyons, I prefer lower Antelope only because the exposure times are a fraction of the time required to produce images in upper Antelope Canyon. When shooting in these canyons or in any slot canyon, make sure there is no rain in the forecast for not only the slots location, but for miles around. Just a few years back, eight individuals lost their lives in lower Antelope due to a deluge of rain that fell a few miles away and came rolling down through the canyons.

The best photography produced in the slots is around high noon when the rays of the sun reflects off the upper walls and penetrates to the bottom of the slots. They are truly a sight to see, so if your route takes you close to Page, Arizona, make sure you explore these marvelous canyons... enjoy!
