#29 Walk Over Me
With no less than eighty-five pounds of gear in my backpack, I traveled one hundred miles by foot through the roughest snake invested terrain imaginable to capture this image... OK! OK! I'm stretching the truth just a tad.
Actually, instead of my usual fall trip out west, I decided to head north in 2002 because I wanted to capture the fall colors in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I also felt that photography in another section of the United States would be a nice addition to my portfolio.
Upon arriving the Upper Peninsula, Michigan residents informed me that the fall colors didn't hold a candle to what they experienced the previous year; however, there were pockets of isolated color that were absolutely beautiful.
Atop a high bluff, I spotted this old wooden bridge at the end of a lake with fairly good color around it. As I made my way down to the bridge, the colors intensified, and once I crossed the bridge, I felt certain that I was looking at a composition that would make its way into my portfolio.
Even though "Mother Nature" did not bless me with the most spectacular year for fall color within the state, I was blessed with overcast skies which intensified the colors, and the absence of wind resulted in the mirror effect upon the surface of the water... enjoy!
