#35 Family Squabble
Prior to these little goslings being hatched, I would take bread and feed the male so he would become somewhat tolerant of my presence and know that I meant him no harm. After a few days of gaining his confidence, the female would leave the nest for a short time and join him for the daily treats I would deliver. Eventually they would both waddle up to me and take bread out of my hand.
I'll never forget the morning I delivered bread and there were four little fuzz balls floating on the water. I could sense that the parents were proud and very protective of their young; they generally tried to keep the goslings between them.
I was really blessed with this image and feel that my chances of having another opportunity to duplicate a shot like this is probably very slim. Just as I began to release the shutter, the one little gosling pecked his sibling in the head -- possibly this photo was my reward for the trust I gained... enjoy!
