#44 Painted with Snow

The San Juan Mountains are without-a-doubt my favorite location in the state of Colorado for my fine art photography. I generally prefer to pack five or ten miles into the back country for the solitude, plus the distance allows me to produce images that are not the typical roadside shots that are often seen in calendars/coffee table books.

This image was shot in the fall of "98", not far from Ridgeway, Colorado. Thanks to a beautiful morning snow, low hanging clouds and no wind, I was able to capture this image that my Mother considers her absolute favorite... enjoy!
