#52 July Frost

It was just twilight as I left base camp in the Colorado mountains to produce image #23, and at nine thousand feet temperatures dropped below the freezing mark in the third week of July as a heavy frost blanketed the ground.

Most mornings in the Colorado mountains will not produce frost during the month of July, but since overnight temperatures dropped below the freezing mark and conditions were right, frost painted the edges of almost every plant low to the ground.

I figured I would take advantage of the opportunity by looking for a pleasing frost covered composition as I headed for the small pristine lake I scouted the day before. I found this composition about halfway to the lake, and with ample time before the sun would break over the peaks, I setup equipment and took a few shots... enjoy!
