#57 Ripple, Ripple, Evening
I've only photographed at White Sands, New Mexico, on one occasion, but for the first two days after my arrival, gusty winds and blowing sand prevented any consideration of photography... unless of course I was determined to destroy my camera equipment.
White Sands was the last stop on my two week photo trip, and I'm thankful I had packed snow goggles for Colorado, because the blowing sand on the dunes irritated my eyes beyond belief. For two days I just scouted the dunes wearing snow goggles and looking for a pleasing composition. When I found this lone Yucca out on the dunes, I knew this was the composition I wanted.
The next morning brought little or no wind as I composed and shot image #64 which I include in my portfolio. I felt so strongly about what I viewed on the ground glass within the viewfinder and considering that I had been on the road for two weeks, I considered heading for home once I returned to the car. Fortunately I did not, for the evening shot brought exceptional light and the most beautiful clouds I could have asked for... enjoy!
