#63 Ye Old Split Rail
I was somewhat skeptical the beautiful fall color which generally embraces the high country would ever come to the four corners a few years back. Overnight temperatures had already reached close to the teens on a couple of occasions and when combined with gusty winds, leaves can almost drop to the ground overnight.
Color was starting to come on, but it was a very late fall and I was afraid that another hard freeze would bring color to an immediate end. I had not received my usual one or two overnight snowstorms that I'm accustomed to having during a week in the back country (see image #32) so I thought I would stay one or two additional days and pray that "Mother Nature" might drop a blanket of snow over the region.
The next morning brought close to what I was hoping for... enjoy!
