#65 Paintbrush & Bluebonnets

I spend a considerable amount of time each year in the Wind River Range of Wyoming. This beautiful and rugged terrain stretches forty by one hundred miles and is a photographers paradise for landscape photography. It is graced with lush meadows that are abundant with wildflowers, cascading streams, and snow capped mountains.

My photographic images are generally produced within the first hour of sunrise and the last hour before sunset. The rest of my day is used for scouting areas that I feel may produce images of portfolio quality, or if I have a cloudy day, I will try to film wildflowers between the ever prevalent gusty winds that never seem to subside in the higher altitudes.

On this years trip into the Wind River (July 2000), I camped on a little plateau just below tree line. The Bluebonnets and Indian Paintbrush surrounded my campsite, so needless-to-say, I didn't have to travel far to obtain this shot -- enjoy!
