#74 The Rose

Just prior to what I considered winter in 2006, my climbing rose on my split rail fence in front of my house produced an orange rose. I was mowing the yard for what was hopefully the last time when I noticed this picture perfect bud that was starting to open. Since temperatures were supposed to drop below freezing for the night, I decided to cut the rose and bring it in the house.

That night the rose really started to open and since I did not have a photo of a rose in my portfolio, I immediately took it to my studio in the basement and placed it between soft boxes attached to strobes to produce this image . . . enjoy!
